BBC News School Report 2012 The academic year 2011-2012 marks a very exciting opportunity for students here at The Holy Family Catholic School to broadcast the news. Students from this school will be making the news for real on Thursday 15 March 2012 as they take part in BBC News School Report. We aim to publish the news by 1600 GMT on the News Day, so please save this page as a favourite and return to it later. In the meantime, take a look at what the students produced last time. Students from year 8 are taking part in the BBC News School Report project; an annual event in which 11-14 year olds across the UK get the chance to research; prepare and broadcast the news. The students are keen to learn about the way in which the news is developed as well as to try their hands at broadcasting. They have been working very hard along with their teacher Mrs. Butterfield in preparation for the big news day in March 2012. The project offers an invaluable opportunity to learn about local, national and international issues; to work collaboratively in small and large groups and to further develop essential English language skills. The Holy Family students will also be approaching the news from a very interesting angle this year….keep checking back to see and read more about it!
